ATEX Inspections

Your explosion-proof installations and equipment must meet the strictest standards. At 123ATEX.eu ®, we understand that safety is non-negotiable. Our approach to ATEX inspections is clear: we make no concessions regarding safety, but we tackle every inspection pragmatically. This is particularly essential for older installations, where an efficient approach makes all the difference.

Periodic ATEX inspection for E&I equipment

Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) equipment must be inspected periodically in accordance with the NEN-EN-IEC 60079-17 standard. This standard forms the basis for ensuring continued safety.

For a new installation, we start with a baseline assessment or an initial inspection. This lays the foundation for safe management. For periodic inspections, we apply three levels, depending on the risks and needs of your installation:

  • Visual Inspection: A superficial check to identify obvious defects.
  • Close Inspection: A more in-depth visual inspection, where the details of the installation are also carefully examined, without opening the equipment.
  • Detailed Inspection: The most thorough ATEX inspection, including opening the equipment enclosures to check for internal damage or anomalies.

ATEX inspections of mechanical equipment

For non-electrical, or mechanical, equipment, the guidelines are less strict. Here, the focus is on the initial commissioning inspection. After this has been carried out, the equipment can be safely put into operation. For the subsequent period, we put together a customised management programme. This programme ensures that the explosion safety of your mechanical equipment is guaranteed throughout its entire lifespan.

Integrated safety inspections

Our ATEX inspections can be easily expanded with additional inspections required for safety throughout your entire company. We also offer NEN3140 and NEN1010 inspections. By combining these services, you get a complete overview of the safety of your installations, with one partner managing everything.
