ATEX114 | CE

Do you want to place or import explosion-proof equipment on the EU market? As a manufacturer or importer, you are legally obliged to demonstrate that this equipment is safe for use in potentially explosive atmospheres. This means that the equipment must comply with the following elements:

  • CE Marking: By applying the CE marking, you as the manufacturer declare that the product complies with all relevant European directives applicable to that product, including ATEX 2014/34/EU. Without the CE marking, you may not trade the product within the EU.
  • ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU (often referred to as ATEX 114 or the Product Directive): This European directive sets the essential safety and health requirements. Your equipment and protective systems must comply with this if they are intended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres. The directive applies to a wide range of equipment, from electric motors to non-electrical (mechanical) components.
