Inspections NEN 1010 & NEN 3140
NEN 1010: Acceptance of new installations
The NEN 1010 inspection is the acceptance inspection for your new electrical installation, expansion, or modification. During this inspection, we, as an independent specialist, check whether your installation has been installed correctly according to the current (safety) directives and the applicable standards.
The installation may be taken into use once the NEN 1010 inspection is completed. The periodic inspections are carried out according to NEN 3140.
Why periodic NEN 3140 inspections are essential
The NEN 3140 inspection is the standard for low-voltage installations in operation. To reduce safety risks, it is necessary and legally obliged to have your existing electrical installations inspected periodically. The Working Conditions Act (Arbowet) states that you, as the employer, are responsible for keeping your electrical installation in good condition. This is essential to guarantee the safety and health of users and employees.
The NEN 3140 must be carried out periodically; electrical installations must be inspected at least once every three to five years. During this inspection, we check your electrical installation for the safe operation of all components. We do this through both visual inspections and thorough testing and measurements:
- Measuring the insulation resistance of the electrical installation
- Measuring the earth electrode resistance
- Measuring and testing residual current devices (RCDs)
- Checking the automatic disconnection of the power supply
- Checking the phase sequence
- Other essential parameters
After the inspection, you will receive a comprehensive report from us. This provides you with immediate insight into the status of your installation.
