For an ATEX training course or programme, 123ATEX.eu ® is the right place. 123ATEX.eu ® has developed its own ATEX Training Programme. All our trainers have extensive practical experience and are regularly deployed on ATEX projects, such as inspection work or drafting Explosion Protection Documents (EPDs). This ensures diversity in their work and keeps the trainers closely involved with industry practice.

Our training courses and programmes:

Are European certified, making it possible to train individuals for an ATEX personal certification.
Can be customised to client-specific wishes, for example, with a selection of topics or specific situations used as training material.
Are concluded with an assessment.
Are interactive and can also be delivered in-house.

Practical facility

A practical facility has been set up in our training centre. Here, participants learn how to correctly install, maintain, and inspect ATEX-certified equipment.

Online Learning Platform

In addition to classroom training, 123ATEX.eu ® also offers a flexible and efficient online training program for gaining and maintaining knowledge and skills. This program contains multiple modules for different work areas and disciplines. The modules are constantly updated with the most recent developments in legislation, directives, and standards. Furthermore, they are specifically tailored to the individual’s role.

The ATEX Awareness training is available both physically and online in our Online Learning Platform, and is offered in Dutch and English. Other languages are possible upon request.

Candidates can also make use of a knowledge database with up-to-date information about EU-ATEX, PGS 1, IECEx, the Labour Inspectorate, and more.

Assessment and certification

All training courses are concluded with an assessment. Upon successful completion, 123ATEX.eu® will issue a certificate of attendance. This certificate is generally valid for 3 years.

For some of our courses, it is possible to take an exam. The results of the exam are reviewed by ExAM, the examination body to which we outsource our examinations. Upon achieving a passing result, ExAM will issue an ATEX personal certificate, which is European recognised. This consists of a paper certificate and a credit card-sized pass.

Online learning platform

Within the online learning environment of 123ATEX.eu ®, employees can easily acquire and maintain ATEX knowledge and skills. Our online learning environment allows you to follow an online training programme that consists of multiple e-learning modules. The modules are set up for various work areas and disciplines.

Customised training courses

ATEX Awareness

The ATEX Awareness training is intended for non-technical personnel who deal with explosion hazards, and it covers the fundamental principles of explosion safety.

ATEX Awareness for Management & HSEQ

The ATEX Awareness for Management & HSEQ covers the fundamental principles of explosion safety and is broadly similar to ATEX Awareness, but focuses on legislation and regulations.

ATEX Operator

In the ATEX Operator training, operators learn to recognise risks, work safely with Ex equipment, and how to apply the correct procedures, with a focus on practical applicability.

ATEX Technician E/I

The ATEX Technician E/I training covers the fundamental principles of explosion safety, the installation and maintenance of Ex equipment, inspections, and commissioning of electrical installations according to EN-IEC-60079-14, with the aim of improving installation skills and technical expertise.

ATEX Technician Mechanical

The ATEX Technician Mechanical training covers the fundamental principles of explosion safety, the installation and maintenance of Ex equipment, inspections, and commissioning of mechanical installations according to EN-IEC-60079, and the standards 80079-36 and -37 for mechanical equipment.

ATEX Workshop Mechanical

In the ATEX Workshop Mechanical training, participants are trained to perform work on components used in Ex-equipment. The emphasis is on practical knowledge, safe working, and conformity with ATEX legislation.

ATEX Inspection

The ATEX Inspection training is intended for individuals who perform inspections on electrical and non-electrical installations in hazardous areas. In this course, the topics from the international inspection standard IEC 60079-17 are covered in detail.

ATEX Electrical & Instrumentation Engineering

During this training, there will be an extensive focus on the selection, placement, and design of explosion-protected equipment and installations. All electro-technical protection concepts will be covered, with the aim of achieving a safe Ex installation.

ATEX Mechanical Engineering

The ATEX Mechanical Engineering training has been specifically developed for everyone involved in the selection, design, or maintenance of non-electrical equipment in hazardous areas. In this two-day training, you will learn the fundamental principles of explosion safety and gain concrete strategies and practical tools for working safely with mechanical installations.

ATEX Masterclass

The ATEX Masterclass is specifically developed for ATEX Experts, Installation Managers/Responsible Persons, and technical professionals who are responsible for the design, management, and maintenance of installations in hazardous areas. The ATEX Masterclass focuses on deepening knowledge and strengthening practical skills within the ATEX domain.
