Company certification
Does your company carry out repairs, overhauls, or refurbishments on explosion-proof equipment? Then you are expected to be able to demonstrate that your company and your employees possess sufficient knowledge, skills, and the correct processes to carry out these activities in a safe and correct manner. This is crucial to safeguard the original explosion safety of the equipment.
If your operational area is within Europe, we use the NEN-EN-IEC 60079-19 standard for the assessment of your repair facility. After it has been established that the requirements are met, an ATEX Company Certification is issued. For an operational area outside Europe, we use IECEx 03/5.
The route to company certification
Your company distinguishes itself significantly when you opt for company certification. This international certification demonstrates that your procedures and employees comply with the stringent requirements of the NEN-EN-IEC 60079-19 standard. This standard specifies the requirements for the repair, overhaul, and reclamation of equipment used in hazardous areas. Additionally, you must have a quality system, such as ISO.
The certification process primarily involves:
- Documentation and Procedures: Service facilities must have documented procedures for all aspects of the repair and overhaul process, including work orders, inspections, and the release of equipment.
- Personnel: Qualified and competent employees must be present, with specific responsibilities and authorisations.
- Process Management: Processes must be in place for the planning, execution, and monitoring of repair and overhaul activities, including the handling of deviations and corrective actions.
- Quality Control: Checks and inspections must be performed to ensure that the work carried out meets the specified requirements and standards.
- Audit Guidance: 123ATEX.eu ® provides audit guidance and will carry out a pre-audit. Your company will be audited during this process by a Notified Body with whom we work closely. 123ATEX.eu ® guides your company step-by-step towards the audit and eventual company certification.
